Mayco Rahsaahn, Blind Monk Perry, and Scott Sinner met in undergraduate school at an all-women’s college in
North Carolina. After experimenting at length with industrial hardcore bluegrass, we decided to move on to playing
selections from the Great American Songbook* and also some early Depeche Mode.
*which Scott with his metal/classical background had to Google the meaning of.
Scott Sinner - vocals, guitars, drums, synths, bass, accordion, ukulele, mandolin, cello
Blind Monk Perry – vocals, guitars, percussion, kazoo
Mayco Rahsaahn - vocals, guitars, percussion, banjo
Additional vocals by Delilah Good & Rakhi Baby Bear
Scott Sinner plays guitar now because when he used to play accordion he couldn’t
get the ladies off him. He also sings, but prefers talking on pitch.
Blind Monk Perry's grandfather played "She'll Be Comin' 'Round the Mountain"
on the radio. Perry’s father purchased the sheet music to "Wild Thing" by The Troggs.
The rest was inevitable.
Mayco Rahsaahn fell out of a tree as a young child. The rhythm of the cracking
branches was so agreeable to him that he continued this practice throughout adolescence
and into adulthood. This, combined with the melodies of the mating calls of the hump
backed whales, provided his primary musical influences. He also has a fondness for
animals and medieval poetry.
